June Holidays are Here!

Dear boys and girls,
After working so hard for 2 terms, here is a well-deserved break.
Do be mindful to spend your time wisely and meaningfully.
That was why we did a simple Holiday Plan activity in class.

Here are some pointers to remember when planning for your holiday:
1) Plan blocks of 45 minutes of studying time with 15 minutes of break thereafter.

2) Be specific about what you plan to revise.
For example:
Do Challenging (1) worksheet.
Revise Fractions by going through worksheets on word problems involving fractions.
Do questions on Fractions in SA1 Paper 2
Complete Book Review etc...

3) Plan time to play, read, exercise and rest.

4) Do not spend too much time on computer games.
Advisable to follow the  '45 min play + 15 min eye break' format.

5C Learning Journey to Little India on 22 May 2013

We went on a Social Studies / National Education Learning Journey to The Little India on 22 May 2013.
We have learnt many new things about the Indian Culture. It was interesting to learn about the Indian food: Prata, Thosai and many sweet treats; Indian craft like Henna was especially popular with our class girls who tried on their hands. We walked from streets to streets, shops to shops and we were enchanted by the colourful display of Indian Sari and even Indian cooking herbs. We saw beautiful garlands in many Indian stalls too. We have also been to a mini Indian Cultural Centre to learn more about the occupations of the Indians in the olden days of Singapore. The Indians had truly contributed much to the building of our nation. It was a fulfilling trip indeed.
