Little Red Dot Lesson 2

The class read a news report: Injured Teen Remains Optimistic (dated 14 Jan 2014) about Tan Li Xuan's Juicer Accident. The pupils then gathered in groups to write a group letter each to Li Xuan to encourage her. We then edited all the group letters into a class letter. It was then emailed to the Editor of Little Red Dot, requesting for them to help us forward the letter to Li Xuan.
Below is the letter to Tan Li Xuan and email request to the Editor:

Dear Tan Li Xuan,

We are pupils from Endeavour Primary School Class 6C. We read about your Juicer Accident which injured your right hand (in a newspaper report in the Little Red Dot: Injured Teen Remains Optimistic - dated 14 January 2014). We were greatly saddened by your unfortunate and painful experience.

We admire your bravery and optimism in facing adversity in your life. You have inspired us not to give up in times of difficulties. The real key to success is indeed never to give up trying. We heard that you have started to learn to use your left hand to write and feed yourself. Your determination and perseverance is amazing.

We wish you a speedy recovery and hope that you will see each day as a new beginning. Be positive. Stay strong. You can truly turn your life around and achieve your goals and dreams.

Yours sincerely,
Pupils from 6C (2014)

The class read an article from the Little Red Dot and the pupils identify encouraging phrases to spur one another on in this stressful and busy PSLE year. A few pupils volunteered themselves to create posters to decorate the classroom.
